Taking a Break or Self-Excluding

How to take a Timeout (break in play) or self-exclude from Gains.com — the available periods and what happens to your account.

At Gains.com, we're committed to a fun, secure, and responsible gaming experience. If you'd like to step back from play, you have built-in tools to do it — a short Timeout or a longer Self-Exclusion. You can set either one yourself from Settings → Self-Exclusion (gains.com/settings/self-exclusion), and all requests are handled with the highest degree of confidentiality.

Timeout (Break in Play)

A Timeout is a short break. You can choose 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days. During a Timeout:

  • Most actions on the site are restricted, and you won't be able to play.

  • You can still log in and redeem any remaining balance, as long as all playthrough requirements have been met.

  • Your account unlocks automatically once your chosen period ends — it can't be unlocked early.

To start one: log in, go to Settings → Self-Exclusion, select Request Break in Play, and choose your period.

Self-Exclusion

If you feel you may be at risk of developing a social gaming problem — or believe you currently have one — Self-Exclusion prevents you from participating in Gains.com sweepstakes for a longer, set period: 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 5 years, or indefinitely.

  • Your account is suspended from gameplay for the full period you choose.

  • You won't be able to access casino games or take part in sweepstakes contests.

  • Your account unlocks automatically only after the exclusion period ends.

To start one: log in, go to Settings → Self-Exclusion, select Request Self Exclusion, and choose your period.

Want to close your account instead?

A Timeout and Self-Exclusion both pause your account and then unlock automatically. If you'd prefer to close your account permanently, see How to Close Your Account.
