At Gains.com, verification keeps your account secure and keeps us compliant — and it's how we make sure your Sweeps Coins go to the right person: you. There are two separate checks:
Identity (KYC) verification — confirms who you are using a government-issued ID.
Payment verification — confirms that the payment method on your account actually belongs to you.
Depending on your account, you may be asked to complete one or both before certain redemptions. Both are routine and quick, and being asked is not a sign that anything is wrong — we ask for security and compliance, simply to confirm it's really you.
Identity (KYC) Verification
Identity verification is powered by Persona, our verification partner. You'll be prompted automatically when you click "Redeem", and Persona guides you step-by-step. You only need to complete it once, and we'll email you when it's done.
What's accepted: government-issued photo IDs (state driver's license, state ID card). You may be asked for a real-time selfie. Temporary paper IDs are not accepted.
Common reasons an ID is rejected: expired document; blurry or low-quality image; cropped or cut-off document; screenshots or saved photos (the photo and selfie must be captured live); selfie mismatch (remove hats, glasses, and filters). For the full list, see Why Was My ID Rejected?
How to resubmit: click "Redeem" again and Persona restarts. For more on why we verify, see Account Verification.
Payment Verification
Separately from your ID, we sometimes confirm that the payment method on file belongs to you. If you see a request for "additional verification" when you go to redeem — even after your ID is approved — that's payment verification, not an ID problem. It's a standard, one-time check. When it's required, we'll email instructions to the address tied to your account, so keep an eye on your inbox and spam folder.
What we ask for: an official statement for the payment method you used, as a PDF downloaded directly from your bank or financial institution. It needs to show your name, your address, and clearly tie to the payment method on your account.
Please send it exactly as your bank provides it. Don't edit, crop, retype, black out, or otherwise alter the document — we need the original statement as issued by your financial institution. It does not need to show your full card number, but please don't modify it to remove anything. A direct-deposit form is not a substitute for a statement.
Paid with Apple Pay? Provide the official statement from the bank card linked to your Apple Pay (the raw PDF from your banking app's statements section). If you used an Apple Cash balance, request an Apple Cash statement from your iPhone's Wallet settings and upload it as provided.
If your ID address differs from your statement: we may ask for one additional document showing your address — for example, a utility bill (electric, water, or internet/TV) — again, as issued, not altered.
