How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Protecting your Gains.com account is a top priority — and enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is one of the best ways to add an extra layer of security to your login.
🔐 What Is 2FA?
2FA adds a second step to the sign-in process, requiring both:
Your password
A one-time verification code sent via app or SMS
This makes it much harder for someone else to access your account, even if they know your password.
🛠️ How to Enable 2FA
You can enable 2FA by visiting the Security tab of your Gains.com Settings page:
Log in to your Gains.com account
Click your avatar and go to Settings > Security
Choose one of the following options:
Authenticator App (Recommended): Use an app like Google Authenticator or Authy to generate secure one-time codes.
SMS Text: Receive your verification code via text message to your phone number.
Click Turn On next to your preferred method and follow the prompts
Once set up, you’ll be prompted to enter a code each time you sign in.
🔄 Can I Use Both?
Yes — you can enable both app-based and SMS-based 2FA and choose which method to use at login.
🧠 Pro Tip
We highly recommend using an authenticator app for stronger security, as SMS-based 2FA can be vulnerable to SIM swapping or interception.
