Gains operates under a compliant social sweepstakes model that allows us to offer fun, fair, and rewarding gameplay in most U.S. states. However, due to specific state laws and legal interpretations, availability differs by state. There are four levels of availability: full access, Merch Mode, Gold Coins only, and restricted.
🛍️ Merch Mode States
In California and New York, Gains operates in Merch Mode. In these states:
Sweeps Coins are fully playable and redeemable.
Merch Mode is a single currency experience: Sweeps Coins only, with no Gold Coins.
There is no Buy Coins option. Instead, you can shop official Gains merchandise in the Gains Shop, and every Shop purchase comes with free Sweeps Coins.
The Daily Claim works as normal.
Free mail-in entry (AMOE) works as always.

🪙 Gold Coins Only States
In the following U.S. states, Gains is available in Gold Coins only mode:
Connecticut
Indiana
Louisiana
Maine
Montana
Nevada
New Jersey
Tennessee
In Gold Coins only mode:
You can play all games with Gold Coins (GC) for fun.
Sweeps Coins (SC) are not available — SC gameplay, SC promotions, and prize redemptions are turned off while you are located in one of these states.
Purchases in these states are for Gold Coins only and do not include any Sweeps Coins.
Why don't I see my Sweeps Coins anymore? If your state moved to Gold Coins only mode, Sweeps Coins features no longer appear while you are located there. This is required by state law and is not an error, an outage, or a temporary maintenance issue. If you have questions about an existing Sweeps Coins balance, reach out to us in the Messenger.
🛑 Restricted States
Players are not permitted to access Gains from the following U.S. states:
Idaho
Michigan
Washington
What If I Travel to a Different State?
Availability is based on your physical location, and location checks run in real time. If you are physically located in a restricted state, you will not be able to access or play on Gains.com, even if your account was created in an eligible state. If you are physically located in a Gold Coins only state, only Gold Coins gameplay will be available. Once you are physically present in a full-access state, full access to the platform — including Sweeps Coins — is restored. If you are physically located in a Merch Mode state, Sweeps Coins play continues as normal in a single currency experience with no Gold Coins, and purchases happen through the Gains Shop. Your experience switches automatically as you move between states, and you never lose a balance.
If you're registered in a restricted or Gold Coins only state but traveling in a full-access state, you can use the platform normally as long as your physical location is verified there.
